L Sealer Operator - 1st Shift
SUMMARY:


• Performs various work/tasks as assigned by a department Lead, Supervisor or Manager in a distribution facility that assembles, packages and distributes ready to use food products and consumer packaged goods. This position is responsible for coaching and monitoring experienced and inexperienced Sealing Operators in any and all job functions.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Foster teamwork and supervise others.
• Enforce company safety policies and identify “opportunities”.
• Uphold and reinforce proficiency in established procedures and job functions.
• Communicate closely with Production Line Lead.
• Effectively communicate with all levels of management.
• Work closely with the process improvement teams to increase productivity, control down time, and maintain a Process Improvement culture.
• Measure and chart re-wraps on a shift basis.
• Work with Production Management in analysis of re-wrap totals weekly. Suggest efficiency improvements from cause/effect process.
• Maintain accurate records pertaining, but not limited to Re-wrap Report, Hourly Records, Weekly Roll-Ups.
• Facilitate weekly Tailgate sessions. Includes, but not limited to: Creating an agenda, facilitation, and administrative functions.
• Support training sessions and initiatives.
• Ensure the sealing operator is building to optimization specifications per guidelines provided by the Product Optimization group.
• Ensure that the rotation process between the Heat Gun operator and sealing operator are adhered to.
• Ensure a clean and organized work area is maintained.
• Perform any additional tasks management may deem necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Distinguish shrink packaging film types as it relates to the manufacturing of products.
• Control settings including, but not limited to: conveyor time, dwell time, impulse time, and conveyer level adjustments, specifically on L-Sealer Machines.
• Manage tunnel control, air velocity, and perforation.
• Basic Microsoft Office software desired such as: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Previous experience as a machine operator preferred but not required.
• Previous experience as a coach/mentor preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• Function in a fast paced warehouse environment with temperature variations.
• Carry out warehouse and production assembly work.
• Stand for a period of at least 8 hours.
• Lift at least 35lbs, including items of different weights, sizes, and shapes.
• Perform bending and pulling as well as hand dexterity.


PAY RANGE & SCEHDULE:

- Mon thru Fri -6:00 am to 2:30 pm
- Pay Rate $13.00
