SUMMARY:
Performs various work/tasks as assigned by a department Lead, Supervisor or Manager in a distribution facility that assembles, packages and distributes ready to use food products and consumer packaged goods. This position is responsible for working with all aspects of packaging systems including proper use of machines, pallet count reporting and knowledge of palletizing systems.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Including the following (other duties may be assigned):
• Follow packaging instructions as per guidelines set by the Optimization department. This includes correct bag placement, using the correct amount of airbags, and inflating the airbags to the correct volume of air.
• Understand and ensure the correct configurations are being followed on all display trays, especially paying very close attention to assortment layouts.
• Ensure the K-Sealer tape machines (Little David, 3M, and Preferred Packaging) are properly adjusted for each run and the airbag machines are properly aligned and the air control is properly adjusted.
• Ensure correct amount of units per layer; layers per pallets are being followed as called out on the Distro.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
•Ability to distinguish products by customer, size, weight, color, brand, and design.
•Basic math functions, counting, and calculating.
Skills, Abilities and Experience:
• Previous experience with packaging systems a plus.
• Previous experience with basic palletizing.
• Some experience using basic material handling equipment, such as, pallet jacks and hand carts.

Position reports To: Production Supervisor, Force Staffing Services Onsite Manager, and Client Management.
Working Conditions: Fast paced manufacturing warehouse environment

Physical Efforts for position:
• Function in a fast paced warehouse environment with temperature variations.
• Carry out warehouse and production assembly work.
• Stand for a period of at least 8 hours.
• Lift at least 35lbs, including items of different weights, sizes, and shapes.
• Perform bending and pulling as well as hand dexterity.
Occasional: Sitting, Stoop/Squat, Ladder/Steps Climbing, Bend / Twist,
Frequent: Full body mobility/kneel/crawl/bend : stair climbing, carrying: 0-30 lbs for 5-10 feet , high, low, out-reaching, standing, walking
Repetitive Use of: Wrist/ Hand/ Fingers/shoulder / elbow/Hip/ Ankles/Head / Neck.
Working Schedule: (AM 6:00 am to 2:30 pm) (PM 3:30 pm to 12:00am) but may vary based on business needs and production goals.
- Ensure safety guidelines are followed
- Maintain a collaborative working relationship with the Line Lead and building team atmosphere within the line
- Interact with Line Maintenance personnel
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Measure re-wraps on a shift basis
- Distinguish shrink packaging film types
- Operate a Heat Gun and Soldering Iron
- Execute proper Mechanical Operating of all L Sealers, Bag Makers, and Heat Tunnels
- Change and adjust film during L Sealer operations
- Perform adjustments to L Sealer and Heat Tunnels including fine tuning impulse time, conveyor speeds, dwell time, mag lock time, and tunnel temperature settings and controls
- Build product to spec-ability to effectively demonstrate and communicate the proper procedures and steps in building products
- Ensure the products are being built to optimization specifications per guidelines provided by the Product Optimization Department
- Maintain efficiency standards – line balancing vs set budget and target
- Trouble shoots and understand cause and effect in film basket integration.
