SUMMARY:
Medical pouch and bag manufacturer in the city of Commerce, CA is offering career opportunities to Machine Operators with attention to detail, efficient and safety conscious. The Machine Operator position will safely operate converting pouch machine to standard ensuring product meets quality specifications. Strive to meet quality and production goals. This position also requires flexibility with schedules as demands can change rapidly requiring the employee to work OT and or Saturdays.
RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS OF MACHINE OPERATOR:
• Support EHS - Environmental health Safety - Initiatives.
• Safely operate converting machine.
• Set up machine to parameter guidelines given on job order within standard timeframe. Update set-up sheets as required. Perform all roll changes as needed.
• Perform autonomous maintenance to include cleaning machine before each set-up.
• Monitor the machine during the converting process and make adjustments as needed.
• Ensure product meets all work order requirements, quality and customer specification.
• Complete required documentation.
• Conduct 1st Article approval when converting autoclavable product.
• Conduct in-process inspection tests as required.
• Maintain job data with PRMS system. Produce and apply labels.
• Material Handling of pallets and raw materials as needed.
• Maintain a clean machine and work station.
• Make boxes, take material to finished goods staging area, and retrieve empty pallets for finished goods.
• Assist Packer position to pack and/or relieve machine as necessary.
• 100 percent line clear inspection following shut down/startup.
• Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS OF MACHINE OPERATOR:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 60 days or more experience on converting type machines preferred.
• Ability to set-up and operate converting machine, ability to properly troubleshoot and adjust converting machine, ability to read drawings and specifications. Ability to perform computer data entry functions.
• Ability to perform computer data entry functions.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
• Must be capable of using a hoist to manipulate heavy materials. Lifting up to 35 pounds. Capable of grasping tools, pallet jacks, etc. Frequently required to walk.
• Must be able to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Use of ruler to measure dimensions. Reasoning ability to identify conforming and non-conforming product.
SCHEDULE and PAY:
• 3rd Shift - 10:00 pm to 6:30 am
• OT provided often and must be available to work additional 4 hours. Breaks provided accordingly. Total of 11.5 hours worked for each day.
• $14.90 per hour
