SUMMARY OF MAINTENANCE MECHANIC:
Manufacturing facility that produces ready to use products and plastic containers for consumer and food service clients is offering career opportunities to a Maintenance Mechanic. Position will be responsible for performing maintenance duties as assigned. Maintains a safe working environment according to company policies at all times.
REQUIREMENTS OF MAINTENANCE MECHANIC:
• Knowledge of how to read and follow equipment schematics, blue prints, specifications and building plans and manuals required.
• Previous maintenance experience with thermoforming or extrusion preferred.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull over 50 pounds.
• Must be able to lift objects up to 15 pounds overhead.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to climb when needed.
• Must be able to work indoors.
• Must have strong manufacturing background and mechanical skills.
• Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Previous experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
• Must have knowledge of electricity and electronic devises.
• Good Mechanical aptitude.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF MAINTENANCE MECHANIC:
• The successful candidates will plan and perform preventive maintenance and or repair and troubleshoot equipment problems on thermoforming and packaging equipment.
• This position also requires the use of standard shop equipment; must have knowledge and demonstrated use of hand power tools including, but not limited to lathes and surface grinders to accomplish repairs; replace motors, gearboxes, chain drive components, rollers, and other items; perform frequent preventative maintenance functions on all equipment to prevent unplanned down time.
• Working Conditions: Will be exposed to extreme temperatures during summer months; there may be some exposure to dust inside manufacturing area and constant exposure to machine noises. This position requires constant use of hands.
• Physical surroundings: Surrounded by manufacturing, production equipment within immediate working space, platforms, scaffolds, ladders, etc.
• Sitting, Stoop, Squat, Ladder, Steps Climbing, Bend, Twist.
• Full body mobility, kneel, crawl, bend, stair climbing, carrying: 0-30 lbs for 5-10 feet , high, low, out-reaching, standing, walking.
• Repetitive Use of Wrist, Hand, Fingers, shoulder, elbow, Hip, Ankles, Head, Neck.
SCHEDULE & PAY RATE OF MAINTENANCE MECHANIC:
• Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts.
• 8:00 am - 8:00 pm
• $19.00 - $22.00 / hour, depending on experience.
